Okinawa Governor Donates 1 Million Yen for Hurricane Relief

Okinawa Prefectural Governor Keiichi Inamine presented a donation of 1 million yen to the U.S. Government on Sept. 9, for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Consul General Thomas G. Reich thanked the governor for his kind words of sympathy and condolences as well as his generous donation. The Consul General assured the governor that the funds would be transmitted quickly to the State Department in order to help save lives in the affected areas.
