American Citizen Consular Services in Okinawa

Routine American Citizen Services (ACS) are provided by appointment only. This includes U.S. passport applications, requests for additional passport pages, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, and notary services. Services for walk-in applicants are no longer provided except on an emergency basis. Make an appointment here.

For passport applications, please use the online Passport Application Wizard. Print out the completed, unsigned application and bring it with you to the consulate on the day of your appointment. Hand written passport applications are no longer accepted. For further information, please visit the Embassy's ACS site.

No appointments are necessary for Americans requiring emergency services. Emergency ACS services include:

• Reporting the death or arrest of a U.S. citizen; reporting a U.S. citizen as missing; or reporting incidents involving the serious injury or illnesses of U.S. citizens.
• Replacing lost, stolen or expired passports for those with an urgent need to travel.
• Assisting U.S. citizens requiring emergency financial assistance to return to the United States.
• Assisting U.S. citizen crime or disaster victims.
