On Friday, Oct. 22, the U.S. Consulate General in Naha invited reporters covering political, educational, and cultural events to the Consul General's house for a "Daniel Pearl Music Days" reception.

The reception featured a performance by two traditional Ryukyu dancers accompanied by a drum, flute, shamisen, and koto.

Reporters learned about the late journalist Daniel Pearl and how he used music to connect with people during his reporting assignments.
