Naha, May 8 - The officers and staff of Consulate General Naha had the opportunity to test the Segway Personal Transporters today. Balanced by five computer-controlled gyroscopes, the Segways were easy to use and operating one required just a few minutes of instruction. Even people who hadn't ridden a bicycle in years mastered the vehicles with ease.

The Segaways, which are made in New Hampshire, USA, have been imported to Okinawa for use on golf courses and resorts. Everyone who had the chance to ride one agreed they were great fun.
