Fuji Takayasu Honored for 26 Years of Service

January 23, Ginowan – Senior Public Affairs Assistant Fuji Takaysau was honored by Consul General Kevin Maher at a reception at his home Friday evening. The event marked Ms. Takayasu’s retirement and celebrated her 26 years of service at the United States Consulate General in Naha.

During her tenure, Ms. Takayasu worked tirelessly to strengthen the US/Okinawan relationship and the large crowd that turned out in her honor is a strong indication of how successful those efforts have been. Attendees at the reception included high level political figures and other members of the government, prominent members of the arts community, members of the press and many others who have worked closely with Ms. Takayasu over the years.

Ms. Takaysu’s work has touched many thousands of lives and helped to make the community a better place to live. Those of us who worked with Ms. Takaysau are sad to see her go, but wish her all the best in her well deserved retirement.
