Naha, April 21 - Dr. Walter Jamieson, Dean of Tourism and Travel Industry Management at the University of Hawaii, spoke before a crowd of over 200 people at a seminar co-hosted by the American Consulate General in Okinawa and the Okinawa Convention and Visitors Bureau. Dr. Jamieson discussed Hawaii's experiences using a public/private partnerships to create and enact a plan to target specific segments of the tourist market and draw them to the island. At the end of his speech, Dr. Jamieson answered many questions from people at all levels of the tourism industry in Okinawa.

Dr. Jamieson's presentation in Okinawa capped off a whirlwind tour of Japan where he spoke before groups in every consular district across the country.
