Feb 09, 2008 Urasoe City - Public Affairs Officer Thomas Kreutzer visited the US consulate sponsored American Corner at the Urasoe City Public Library for a children's book reading. The event drew several more than 30 people, including several families, to hear three stories read in English. Mr. Kreutzer sat among the children on the floor and briefly explained the books in Japanese after the reading.

The US consulate sponsored American Corner is one of only two such facilities in Japan and offers English language books suitable for all levels of English ability, an English language internet connection as well as Japanese language books and information about the United States.
