Dr. James McGann, professor of Political Science at Villanova University and Senior Fellow at The Foreign Policy Research Institute of Philadelphia, visited Okinawa on Tuesday, February 5th to talk about the role that think tanks have on foreign policy. Dr. McGann, who is the author of four books on the subject, explained the role of think tanks in American society and then lead his audience through several case studies to help illustrate the real world effects these organizations have had. He concluded his presentation by pointing out that Think Tanks are not an exclusively American institution, noting that today there are more than 5,000 such organizations worldwide.
