On June 14-17, Council of Women World Leaders Secretary General and Goldman Sachs Senior Advisor Laura Liswood visited Okinawa at the invitation of the Consulate General to speak before the 21st Pacific Science Congress on "Achieving Society's Full Potential in thee 21st Century: The Benefits of Gender Equality -- the Case for Diversity."

While on the island, Ms. Liswood also participated in a courtesy call on Okinawa Prefecture Vice Governor Katsuko Asato and a roundtable discussion dinner hosted by Consul General Maher and attended by leading Okinawan opinion makers. She also conducted a lecture program at the American Consulate General for an audience of approximately 45 Okinawan businesswomen.
