On May 10, Consul General Kevin Maher met with six members of the "Forum 21," a private, non profit study group designed to foster the growth of future Japanese leaders, to discuss U.S. military transformation in Okinawa. The delegation, including Mr. Shoichi Umezu, Toshihiko Ohno, Tomonobu Shimomura, Tetsuya Motshita, Minoru Tanaka and Satoshi Kubota, are all members of the organization's diplomatic and international issues sub-committee and visited Okinawa under the theme of "pro active foreign policies for the nation's existence."
