On April 26-27, Dr. David Acker, Associate Dean, Iowa State University, visited Okinawa for a series of programs. While here, he spoke at the University of the Ryukyus on "The Global Entrepreneurial University: American Leadership in creating innovative globally-oriented institutions of higher learning" in a program co-sponsored by the Okinawa Council for promotion of Industry-Academia-Government Cooperation. Introducing Acker was University of the Ryukyus incoming president Teruo Iwamasa. The following day, Acker spoke with faculty at Meio University. Afterwards, he had lunch with Meio University President Eiki Senaha and several members of his senior staff.
