Okinawa Governor Expresses Sympathies regarding Virginia Tech Incident

On April 18, Mr. Akira Uehara, Director General, Okinawa Prefectural Government, Office of the Governor, presented a letter to Acting Consul General Carmela Conroy from Governor Nakaima that expressed his "deepest and most profound sympathies" to the victims and families involved in the tragic incident at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. The governor wrote, "At this most deplorable moment, my heart is filled with sorrow as this incident has brought great shock and anxiety to the American people."
