The City of Urasoe and the American Consulate General cosponsored the third annual Okinawa-wide youth friendship baseball tournament on April 7-8 for junior and senior high school students. Ten Okinawan and two American teams participated. A team representing St. Mary's International School also participated. The Ginowan Ponys won the tournament. The Koza Boys took second place in the tournament. The American All-star team beat the Okinawan All-Star team.

The following players were selected to the All-Star Team.
