On January 27, Okinawa Consul General Kevin Maher presented the official basketball used in the Japan Professional Basketball League's first all-star game in Ginowan City, Okinawa Prefecture. As a part of the ceremony, the Consul General noted at center court the long and close ties between the United States and Japan, in basketball as in other sports.
