Consul General Maher answers a query during his recent press conference.

On July 21, newly-arrived Consul General Kevin K. Maher met with approximately twenty Okinawan and mainland journalists. Questions focused on Maher's views regarding the recently announced deployment of Patriot Three missiles at Kadena Air Base and ongoing developments on base transformation in Okinawa . Earlier the same day, Consul General Maher gave exclusive interviews to reporters for the Okinawa Times and Ryukyu Shimpo (see Japanese newspaper article) and the Stars and Stripes (see English newspaper article).
