On June 12, Dr. Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel, Chairperson of the New York City Historic Landmarks Preservation Center, spoke before 50 Okinawa Architectural Association members and local university students majoring in architecture. (See the Landmarks exhibition web site.)

Ryukyu University Architecture Department Professor Shunsuke Fukushima served as moderator. Afterwards, Dr. Diamonstein-Spielvogel toured Shuri Castle. The same evening, Public Affairs Officer Frank Stanley hosted a dinner for her with four local architects and scholars.
