On May 25, Consul General Thomas G. Reich hosted a small dinner and discussion program on U.S.-Japan Security for six visiting U.S.-based scholars in town to participate in a Japan/U.S. Exchange Fund seminar.

The following day, CG Reich formally addressed the seminar participants on his views on base transformation.
