American Corners: Duo Performs to SRO Audiences Island-wide

The Cooperstock-Terwilliger Duo performs before 30 guests at Consul General Thomas G. Reich's residence.

The duo also performed before 180 guests at the Nago Public Library.

Their visit was highlighted by a performance before 900 Minamigawa Junior High School students in Urasoe City.

On May 11-12, the Cooperstock/ Terwilliger piano and violin Duo performed three programs while on the island. The pair performed before close to 180 people at the Nago American Corners, Japan’s second American Corners, and 900 students at the Minamigawa Junior High School in Urasoe City in an event co-sponsored by the Urasoe American Corners. The duo performed works by American composers such as Aaron Copeland and Paul Schoenfield. They even played two Okinawan selections during their encore that especially delighted the various audiences. In addition, the duo put on a performance before approximately 30 Okinawans at the residence of Consul General Thomas G. Reich.
