Maritime Security Expert Visits Okinawa

Retired Rear Admiral MacDevitt addresses a group at the Consulate General during his recent visit to Okinawa.

On April 17-18, retired Rear Admiral Michael McDevitt, Director of Project Asia and the Center for Strategic Studies at the CNA Corporation, spoke on "U.S. Strategy for Maritime Security in Asia" before several audiences in Okinawa. (Link to Fact Sheet) In his first program, he addressed approximately 10 journalists, politicians and NGO representatives at the Consulate General. This was followed by a dinner with six prominent Okinawans that was hosted by Consul General Thomas G. Reich. 

While on the island, McDevitt also made presentations before 20 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) officers at Camp Courtney and 200 enlisted sailors and marines at Camp Shields.
