Ambassador Schieffer addresses the membership of the Okinawa Keizai Doyukai.

On February 13, Ambassador Thomas Schieffer visited Okinawa to address 120 members of the Okinawa Association of Corporate Executives (Keizai Doyukai) on recent developments in U.S.-Japan relations, including the ongoing base transformation talks (See transcript).

While on the island, Ambassador Schieffer also met with Okinawa Governor Inamine and U.S. military commanders on the island. The Stars and Stripes newspaper published an interview with the Ambassador on Feb. 16.
