Dec. 9 - The U.S. Consulate hosted a symposium entitled “Security in East Asia and the Role of the U.S.-Japan Alliance,” sponsored by the Pacific Forum CSIS.
Consulate Hosts Business Leaders from Kansai
Dec. 2 – Consul General Raymond Greene met with Kansai Keizai Doyu Kai members who are visiting Okinawa to attend the “9th seminar on Okinawa’s Base Issue and Japanese Security”.

November 25—Deputy Principal Officer Matthew O'Connor spoke at Naha’s Kokusai High School about American education, culture, diversity, while encouraging the students to study abroad in the United States.
English Conversation Group
On the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, members of the Consulate’s staff host an informal English conversation group at the Urasoe Starbucks at 7:30 a.m. If you are interested in practicing and expanding your English, please join us.

American Journalist Discusses Changes in Modern Journalism
American Journalist Jim Brady spoke about the evolving nature of modern journalism to students at Okinawa International University. Mr. Brady discussed the effect social media is having on Journalism, particularly in light of the March 11, earthquake and Tsunami in Tohoku.
